Rob Schmitt comes to CBS2/KCAL9 as an anchor and reporter from WPLG, the ABC affiliate in Miami. Rob’s career has taken him all over the country. In Miami, Rob chased hurricanes in the Caribbean and was on the ground in Port Au Prince, Haiti just days after a massive earthquake destroyed the island nation’s capital city. Rob’s reports from Haiti were used all over the country in the days after the quake hit. Originally from Indiana, Rob graduated from the Ernie Pyle School of Journalism at Indiana University. Rob enjoys playing golf and tennis in Southern California, and laying by the pool on his days off.
