Jim Thornton, one of the most popular and distinct voices in Southern California, has co-hosted KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO‘s afternoon drive newscast since January 2005. Prior to that, Jim was KNX’s morning drive traffic anchor.
In 2011, Jim fulfilled a lifelong dream when he was named as the announcer for “Wheel of Fortune.”
A native of Huntington, West Virginia, Jim began his broadcasting career in 1985. He holds a degree in linguistics from Marshall University and in his spare time enjoys singing, doing voice-over work and spending time with his wife, Susan, whom he met when she was doing a newspaper story on traffic reporters.
