Elaine Perkins joined KFWB after an award-winning career in television, both in front of and behind the camera.
She was one of the nation’s first female sportscasters, and spent several years with KING-TV in Seattle and KTTV in Los Angeles as a sports reporter and anchor. During that time, she won two Emmys and two Golden Mic awards.
For her “second act”, Perkins worked as a producer/director for news magazines, documentary programs and reality shows. She traveled domestically and internationally, covering news stories — everything from Princess Diana’s death to Mike Tyson’s “ear biting” incident in Las Vegas. During those years, she earned four national Emmy nominations for programs she produced.
Ironically, her broadcasting career began at KFWB in the mid 70s, when she did her first on air
sportscasts as a fill-in anchor.
Perkins is a gourmet cook and wine buff whose goal is to spend her spare time eating and drinking her way through Italy — one trattoria at a time.
If you don’t have time to get “across the pond” for a spot of tea, there is a place in Pasadena that may be the next best thing.
There are plenty of good dining options here in Pasadena, but KFWB 980’s Elaine Perkins found one in particular that is truly a work in progress.
Pasadena is a town that has its fair share of shopping options that span across the economic spectrum.
