Danielle Gersh joined CBS2 and KCAL9 as a weather anchor and reporter in January 2017. You can catch her forecasts weekend evenings on CBS2 at 5, 6 and 11 and KCAL9 at 8, 9 and 10. In addition, she reports stories for CBS2 and KCAL9 during the week.
A native of Los Angeles, Danielle is thrilled to be back home after working at WHDH in Boston, Massachusetts where she reported weather and traffic for the station’s weekday morning newscast. In her special series, ‘D-Tours with Danielle,’ she took viewers to unique landmarks around Boston including the famous Citgo sign, an underground tour of the tunnels built during Boston’s Big Dig and a climb up to the top of the largest piece of copyrighted art in the world.
Before making the move to New England Danielle worked as a weather anchor and reporter for KESQ and CBS Local 2 in Palm Springs. During her time there she was nominated for an Emmy after her coverage of a 700 year storm that hit the area. She also had the opportunity to cover several haboobs that moved through the desert.
Danielle is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where she studied journalism. In addition, she studied meteorology through Mississippi State University. While in college, she spent time as an intern for CBS both in Dallas and Los Angeles. In Texas she covered the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library as well as the severe weather outbreak in 2013 that moved through parts of Texas and also resulted in the Moore tornado.
In her spare time Danielle enjoy spending time with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and riding her horse. She loves trying new restaurants, hiking and traveling. She is honored to tell stories and forecast weather here at home in Los Angeles surrounded by family and friends.
