There are many wonderful restaurants in Santa Monica. Here are a few that will appeal not only to kids, but the folks paying the bill.

This delightful spot is a treat for kids and parents alike. Children's meals are served in divided plates with entrée, fruit and condiments, which will make any picky eater happy. The spacious restaurant is a lovely spot for parents, too. It serves a variety of fresh creations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including burgers, salads, sushi, and tacos.

This place is great for so many reasons. The minute you sit down, families are greeted with coffee and orange juice for the parents and crayons, stickers and a coloring sheet for the kids. I'm not recommending it just because they're nice. The omelettes and scrambles are exceptional and the portions are big enough to share. The kids menu has many options for breakfast and lunch. Don't forget to ask for a lollipop on the way out.

You can enjoy an organic whole wheat or gluten-free pizza while you take a sip from your biodegradable straw. This pizza chain (with another location in Hollywood) makes their pizza and salads with organic and natural ingredients and they do it well. The kids menu is a real deal. Only $5.99 buys an organic juice pouch, an individual pizza, and a homemade chocolate chip cookie or piece of fruit.

If your kids are hungry and you want to watch sports, you'll be in heaven at Barney's Beanery. The sports bar on Third Street Promenade has a huge menu with everything from burgers to nachos to tasty salads. It's loud so no one will notice if your child makes some noise, but be prepared to answer a few questions if your kids go into the bathroom. It's wallpapered with pictures that might not be for young eyes.

Fritto Misto

601 Colorado Ave
Santa Monica, CA 90407
(310) 458-2829
More Info

This neighborhood Italian restaurant is fun for a family going out for an early dinner or for a date night. They have a great antipasto and tasty warm bread. The pasta is reasonably priced and it's very good. They also have excellent gluten-free pasta, which is hard to find, and a decent kids menu.
