Sunset Strip

No trip to West Hollywood would be complete without a drive along the famous Sunset Strip. Laughter is the best medicine and you'll get plenty of that at The Comedy Store. I love going to comedy shows with girlfriends! Step into history at The Chateau Marmont. Enjoy a lunch or a drink at this L.A. landmark. Be careful -- you might miss it as it sits above the street.

If you are looking for a book to read by the pool, then stop at the independently-owned bookstore, Book Soup. Walk past their newsstand and follow the maze of bookshelves for staff-recommended books and be sure to check their calendar for author appearances.

There's no shortage of live music venues on the Sunset Strip. Check out The Viper Room, Whisky a Go Go and The Roxy. These spots are where all the top name musicians from past and present have performed.

Every girls' getaway should include a day at the spa or at least a massage. Burke Williams Day Spa is a luxury spa that will pamper you from head to toe. Located on Sunset Boulevard, expect a clean facility that offers numerous treatments including skin care, massages and nail care. I've been to different locations and have been treated to different services alone and with friends. I've enjoyed socializing in the lounge, while sipping on fresh fruit water. You could truly spend a day decompressing at this peaceful sanctuary!

Jinpachi is a small sushi bar and a West Hollywood favorite. The edible creations are deliciously fresh, attractive and are definitely worth the wait. Not sure what to try? Order from the chef's menu for a taste of sushi, sashimi and more.

Fonuts

Head to Fonuts in West Hollywood for a "healthy donut." Less sugar and non-fried, these delectable treats will satisfy that sweet tooth without clogging your arteries. My favorite flavors are the cinnamon sugar and peanut butter chocolate. The latter is dense so consider saving half for later. Fonuts also offers gluten free and vegan options.

Get a taste of Disneyland at Whipp'd LA (formerly known as House of Dolewhip) in West Hollywood. Imagine standing in line at the Tiki Juice Bar in Disneyland as you order the World Famous Pineapple Dolewhip at Whipp'd. The pineapple flavor is sweet and the soft serve is creamy. The Dolewhip float is topped with a Hawaiian Umbrella! Other items served are shaved ice, ice cream and hot dogs topped with bacon bits and pineapple.
