STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The high pressure that bathed us in sunshine yesterday and encouraged an off-shore flow is now drifting back to the west.

An upper-level low is dropping into the West Coast and will replace that warm weather.  The low and trough will kick up a strong on-shore flow.  This will mean cloud cover rolling inland.

Coastal areas are already getting a little taste of low cloud cover, but by tomorrow, the marine layer becomes more prominent.

It appears the on-shore flow will stay in place for at least seven days, maybe even more.  That’s going to keep our temperature down a bit and stick us with the “May Gray” for a little while.

Get ready for the same pattern: clouds in the morning with later clearing and hazy sunshine.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — It was a lovely weekend with just the right mix of clouds and sunshine.

Today, high pressure nudges over into the Great Basin and a slight off-shore flow develops  That’s going to translate into daytime highs that are just a bit warmer.

There is a wind advisory through the middle of the day from that off-shore flow.

The rest of the week looks a bit different with the return of the on-shore flow.  In fact into next week, we are going to tap into a little “May Gray.”  An area of low pressure parks itself over the west coast with a strong on-shore flow kicking up low clouds.  It will be low clouds and partial clearing later each day through the week.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The on-shore flow has strengthened this morning and that means a thicker marine layer and slightly cooler temperatures.

The low clouds have made it into our valleys this morning.  We are now dropping our temps down just a bit below average for this time of year.

The cloud cover should give way to hazy sunshine this afternoon, but the low clouds will return once again for Friday morning.

A ridge of high pressure will build in on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday…with Monday being the warmest day.  It won’t be quite as warm has the last round of heat, but it will definitely hit into the mid to upper 90s for our valleys.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The hot temperatures we experienced at the beginning of the week are now a distant memory with a strong on-shore flow taking over.

A short wave moved through yesterday cooling us off and kicking up the marine layer. This set the stage for a deeper trough that will move through later on Thursday.

Temperatures will run several degrees below average through the end of the week. However, by the weekend, a warm up takes hold once again.

High pressure will nudge closer to Southern California and that will bring warm temperatures, especially for inland areas.  It won’t be quite as hot as the last round, but we will see some 100s.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — It looks like our hot stretch of weather is behind us for a few days.

The on-shore flow is strengthening and a short wave of energy is moving into the West Coast. We can expect some low clouds to begin reforming along the coast as early as this morning.

Temperatures will drop a bunch today and even more tomorrow.

The low cloud cover thickens through Friday before a warm up hits us again over the weekend.  Valleys could once again approach 100 degrees on Sunday.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — It was a scorcher of a Mother’s Day, and while there may be some slight cooling in some spots, it’s still going to be a warm one across the inland region.

The ridge of high pressure that has been dominating is not quite as strong today, but still it has enough punch to bring a couple of century mark readings today.

By Tuesday a short wave will move through and that’s going to encourage a stronger on-shore flow with the marine layer building back in.  The low clouds should penetrate inland areas and we will all experience some cooler weather by Wednesday.

We will keep our temperatures in check for most of the work week, but by next weekend another ridge of high pressure builds in and you can expect another warm up.

We are seeing a more organized marine layer this morning. It will burn off for some hazy sunshine this afternoon.  It looks like a nice end to a busy weather week.

After a little thunderstorm activity yesterday in the San Gabriel Mountains and adjacent valleys, the atmosphere is now settling down.

The high pressure is building into the Great Basin and that’s going to spawn some warmer temperatures all weekend long.

The ridge combined with an off-shore flow will keep us dry and bring temperatures into the mid 80s to near 90 degrees for Saturday and Sunday.  Mother’s day looks great!

Next week it looks like the on-shore flow returns and that will cool us off a bit.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are waking up to some low clouds in the coastal plain this morning, but we should see some sunshine once again today.

In fact the valleys are looking clear at this early hour.  While there will still be a mix of clouds and sun, the sun will win out a little more today.

There is still a little instability over the area, so a mountain thunderstorm is not out of the question.  At the very least, we will see a little cumulus build up in our higher elevations.

Temperatures will be up a couple of degrees.  We should hover around average for this time of year.

By Friday the high pressure begins to settle in and we will have some warmer temperatures.  We are expecting temps in the 80s all weekend long.  It should be a spectacular Mother’s Day.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The upper level low that gave us the winter like conditions for the past couple of days has made it’s move to the east.

A trough has been left in it’s wake. That means the temperatures will still be running below average for this time of year.  There may also be a slight shower chance in our mountains today as well.

The rest of the area will also have to deal with some clouds today and tomorrow. Although we should get some better clearing on Thursday.

By the weekend a ridge of hi pressure builds in and we can expect some much warmer temperatures with an off shore flow.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The upper level low that was responsible for the rainy weather yesterday is now on the move over Southern California.

The system picked up a little speed overnight with most of our rain coming between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.  The rain chances taper off through the first part of the day.

As the low moves inland we have our best chance for a t-storm this morning.  We should pick up another .25″ of rain from this system which is quite impressive for this time of year.  However even with this added hit of rain, this year will end up being one of the driest on record.

High pressure will build in behind this system.  We start a gradual warm up for Wednesday and Thursday before things kick into high gear.  It looks like an off-shore flow will push the thermometer up. We are looking at some upper 70s to middle 80s by Saturday. On Sunday (Mother’s Day) we could even see some upper 80s with very dry conditions.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We have really turned a corner in our weather. From Friday to Monday our weather has completely turned around.

With a cut-off low just off-shore, the hot dry weather has given way to cloudy, cool, and rainy conditions. The low is spinning away and will eventually move inland over the next 24 hours.

There is a wave of energy that is moving through this morning. It is giving us some light scattered showers throughout the area. The scattered shower chance will continue through Tuesday.

In fact tomorrow as the low actually moves to the east another front will push through the area. There is even enough lift in the atmosphere to give us a passing thunderstorm. This is a very late season system to be moving through the west coast in May, but we’ll take it.

While last week felt like August, this weather feels a little more like November. A warming trend is on tap for the end of the week and an early look at next weekend shows another off-shore flow event.

There are still Northeasterly winds blowing through the area. which is creating high fire danger once again. Wind advisories are still in place. Humidity levels are also remaining critically low. These two factors are contributing to the continued Red Flag Warning.

You can expect record-breaking heat once again, but it won’t be quite as gusty this afternoon.

The marine layer will return a bit tonight and tomorrow and we will start a decent cooling trend Sunday and Monday with the possibility of a little drizzle early Monday morning.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The Santa Ana winds are ripping this morning.

Wind gusts in the warning areas are reaching 35 to 50 mph.

A High Wind Warning is in effect for the mountains, the Santa Clarita Valley, Inland Empire, and Orange County. All other areas are under an advisory. We have a Red Flag Warning for basically the entire area.

The off-shore flow will peak this morning. We will see bone dry conditions and gusty winds through Friday.

Under the influence of this high pressure we will also see some extremely warm temperatures, some cities in the Inland Empire and San Fernando Valley should sit just below the century mark.

While the winds relax a bit on Friday, it still stays warm. Over the weekend we will have a cooling shift and a cut-off low could even give us a little drizzle or light showers late Sunday into Monday morning.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The marine layer has once again made it into the valleys this morning, however we should get some better clearing today as we transition to more of an off-shore flow.

The gusty winds we had yesterday will continue today. Initially, these winds will ride over the marine layer, but as we progress through the day it should be able to scour a lot of the cloud cover away.

How the marine layer clears out will be the difference between a warm day today and a mild day. The off-shore flow really kicks in on Thursday and Friday. Again it will be a battle between the inversion (low cloud layer) and the off-shore flow (Santa Ana Winds).

Today the inversion wins a little of the battle and keeps some of those temperatures in check.

However by tomorrow, I’m pretty certain valleys will reach well into the 90s. Downtown temperatures will be a little trickier. If that cloud cover burns off, we will also see some 90s tomorrow. If it hangs on, the temperatures won’t be quite as hot.

Regardless, fire danger will be high starting today. There is a Red Flag Warning for our mountains and the Santa Clarita Valley. The San Fernando Valley is also part of that advisory. All in all it’s a bit of a complicated weather set up for the next few days.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Monday ended up being a lovely Southern California Spring Day, even with the cooler temperatures.

We can expect more of the same today. However, there may be a bit more cooling and some beach communities will have a tough time clearing out of the clouds.

There is a trough encouraging a strong on-shore flow and that’s giving us a decent cloud deck. The low clouds have once again made it into the valleys.

Expect winds to kick in through the day today. A wind advisory will be in effect through the Antelope Valley.

By tomorrow everything changes and we will be dealing with the opposite condition: clear skies, warm temperatures, and very dry conditions. The beaches will still be dealing with some patchy fog, but that will clear by Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch that starts late Tuesday and runs through late Thursday. It may even get extended into Friday.The watch could easily transition into a red flag warning if the humidities drop to critical levels (single digits).

Temperatures are going to be way above average and into record territory. Then we can expect a little cooling Sunday and into next week.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The on-shore flow continues to strengthen and that will keep our temperatures down, slightly below average.

We also have some low clouds that are spreading to the basin and other inland areas.  Even portions of the San Fernando Valley are under cloudy skies at this early hour.

Highs today will top out in the low to mid 70s with a little more cooling tomorrow.

By Wednesday a trough digs into the Great Basin which will set the stage for an off-shore flow (Santa Ana Wind).  In fact by early Thursday, the humidity levels should drop pretty dramatically and that combined with some gusty winds will put us in some high fire danger.

Temperatures will warm into the 80s and even possibly into the 90s.  Then it looks like we may see some cooling into late next weekend.

The marine layer will probably return in some limited form Saturday night. Temperatures are going to pop up a bit today, but there is a better warm up in store for tomorrow.

We have a ridge of high pressure building in and it will peak on Saturday. Look for about 5 to 7 degrees of warming today and another 5 to 7 for Saturday.

There is a slight cool down Sunday and into next week with a stronger on-shore flow. All in all, a pretty mellow forecast next few days…enjoy the weekend!

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The upper level low, that we have been watching for several days, is finally moving through the area.

After yesterday’s June Gloomyish day, we are still looking at a thick marine layer. You can expect some drizzle this morning and even some light showers as the system passes.

There is some instability associated with the system, so we are seeing those cumulus clouds over the mountains. However, there is only a very slight chance that any will support a thunderstorm.

By Friday we are going to see better clearing and there is a nice warming trend in store. Look for temps to push back above average for Friday and Saturday. In fact, Saturday we could be closing in on 80 degrees. Then a system pushes to the north and that will cool us off for Monday and Tuesday.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — With the wind advisories behind us, we turn our eyes to the west and the approaching cut-off low.

The marine layer is back for a repeat performance and beach communities will have a tough time clearing out today. The on-shore flow has strengthened and we will see temperatures drop for the next couple of days.

The cut-off low is expected drift over the border of California and Mexico late tonight into early tomorrow morning. This action will thicken up the cloud cover and give a chance at patchy drizzle and even a light shower. While the likelihood of any convection (t-storms) is slim to none, it’s not a zero chance, so we will watch for it.

Once this system passes to the east we will see a slight warm up to near average levels.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are waking up to low clouds once again this morning, but there are some subtle changes to the forecast today.

A weak northeast wind is kicking in this morning which is translating into some gusty winds for the high desert. That wind is skipping right over the marine layer, nevertheless we will get some better clearing today.

There is a new wind advisory that starts at 6 a.m. through 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The off-shore flow is short lived and we will be entrenched in the marine layer again tomorrow morning.

By Thursday, that cut-of low that has been spinning off-shore finally moves overhead. It will help to bring us some light drizzle or a scattered shower. But the totals will barely add up to a trace of rain.

By Friday we will rebound back with some hazy sunshine.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — After a warm and dry weekend, our weather pattern is changing up once again.

We are looking at some cooler weather this week with the return of the marine layer.  There is a healthy on-shore flow and a coastal eddy spinning up.  That means we will be in the “clouds in the morning, sun in the afternoon” regime for the work week.

Already the marine layer is rolling into some of our valleys this morning, so expect temperatures to drop down a bit today.

There is a little bump in the jet stream tomorrow to give us a little better clearing and some warmer temps, but then it sags back down on Wednesday.  Temperatures for the end of the week will dip below normal.

There is a closed low moving through the area Thursday and Friday.  While we probably won’t see any storm activity from this system, it may be strong enough to deepen the marine layer and squeeze out some drizzle.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The warm weather continues as we close out this work week.

An off-shore flow will keep us dry and warm today and even on Saturday. The winds have diminished, but the northerly flow is encouraging the compressional heating. So look for temps to reach the 80s today and tomorrow with a couple of 90s for inland valleys by Saturday.

There is also another round of gusty winds expected late tonight and early tomorrow morning.

By Sunday we start cooling down with more of an on-shore flow. We’ll see some low clouds return to the forecast for Monday and Tuesday with temperatures back down to the low 70s.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The big story over the next few days will be the dry warm weather that is descending upon Southern California.

Before we tap into that warm air, there is still a little lingering cold air in the high desert making for a cold morning.  Once the sun comes up and we get that solar heating, those cold temps will be a distant memory.

We are looking at a decent off-shore flow which will bring us widespread temperatures in the 80s.

We are expecting the high pressure to stick around through at least Saturday, then we will see that ridge push back to the west. Cooler weather is on tap for Sunday.

The next few days will also spell high fire danger.  The gusty winds combined with very low humidities will make for dangerous conditions.  We’ve already got widespread wind advisories this morning, and a Red Flag Warning that will last through the end of the week.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The off-shore flow is kicking in and that’s going to translate to a warming trend over the next several days.

We will start things on a chilly note this morning, especially for communities that are in wind protected regions which will allow for the radiational cooling.

That being said, we are experiencing some gusty winds this morning. Advisories are in place in LA and Ventura counties for the valley areas. There is a high wind watch for the Inland Empire and mountain areas in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

As the northerly wind kicks in, look for warmer temperatures.  Today, we will be about 5 to 7 degrees warmer than yesterday.

By tomorrow we’ll see a bunch of 80s. The trend peaks on Friday, but stays warm on Sunday. In fact, we should be above average into next week.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are starting the work week off on a cool, cloudy, and in some cases, drizzly note.

A broad trough is moving through the west coast.  There is a wave of energy rotating through the trough and it will bring us a chance for a shower later tonight.

The trough is also responsible for some dangerous winds that will increase through the day today.  We already have wind warnings in effect for mountains and deserts through early tomorrow morning.

As the low transitions south and east, we will see the winds continue with cold air driving into the Southland.  That cold air will also lower the snow level even though there is little in the way of moisture.  That means wind advisories and warnings with temperatures only topping out in the 60s for the first few days of this work week.

However, by Thursday a ridge of high pressure will build in…and we are back into the sunshine…with warm temperatures.  We should get some 80s on the board by Thursday.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Look for temps to continue sliding today as the marine layer thickens up.

A coastal eddy this morning is doing a good job of giving many communities a gray start.  We are expecting temperatures to top out near 70, some will only hit the upper 60s.

The weather stays pretty consistent through Saturday.  However on Sunday an inside slider approaches the area.  We will all see temperatures drop down a bit, and as the dry front moves through the area on Monday morning. The marine layer may be thick enough to squeeze out a little drizzle or even light showers for foothill communities.

We will also see the winds strengthen.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see wind advisories pop up in the Antelope Valley.

We should warm up a little bit by the middle of next week.

The warm weather we had yesterday fades today.  Now we have quite the opposite situation.  An on-shore flow will bring us some cooler weather.

We are looking at a good 4 to 7 degree drop in just 24 hours.  Look for hazy sunshine today, then later this evening we will see the return of the marine layer.  I expect a coastal eddy to spin up early Friday and that will keep our temperatures in check.

By Saturday we get another little bump in high pressure which that will warm us up a couple of degrees.  Then another inside slider rolls through the area Sunday and Monday.  That means cooler weather and more gusty winds.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Temps continue to pump up a bit today with the off-shore flow kicking in.

This is certainly a good news-bad news situation. The good news: it is going to be a lovely day with temps in the 80s and plenty of sunshine.

The bad news: we are going to have bone dry conditions with some gusty winds, that means bad allergies and high fire danger. There is a wind advisory in place through 2 p.m. The high pressure collapses by tonight and we will cool down a touch on Thursday.

It appears we are still going to be slightly above average for most of our extended forecast.

It does appear there is another “inside slider” event for Monday next week (this is the type of system that hit us on Monday of this week). It doesn’t look like it is going to dive quite as far south so it shouldn’t be as damaging, but we will have to pay attention to it.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The winds this morning are going to seem light for many residents, however, we still have advisories in place.

The low pressure system responsible for the nasty weather is drifting to the east. Over the next day, high pressure will bump in and that’s going to help warm us up a few degrees. Today will be a little warmer than yesterday.

The concern over the next 48 hours will be high fire danger. Not only can we expect another round of brief but strong Santa Ana winds, we will also be very dry. As you well know, our rainfall this season has been dismal and this is shaping up to be one of the drier seasons on record.

An off-shore flow will kick in, and although it won’t last too long, it will make a significant impact. By Thursday we will see the return of an on-shore flow and slightly cooler temperatures.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — A large upper level is now spinning its way through Northern California as it makes a trip east.

The only effects of this system were a couple of light scattered showers from San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara.  However that wet weather ended last night.

This morning we are waking up to some patchy low clouds mostly in the coastal plain.  There are clear skies in the valley.  However, as the system continues to push to the east, we will see our skies clear out through the day.

There is a ridge of high pressure building in behind this system.  That’s going to translate into some warmer weather as we head into the middle of this week.  Temperatures should already be a little bit above average as early as tomorrow in some spots.

We will peak on Wednesday, then things start to cool down again.  Right now the long range models give us another chance at rain late Sunday next week into Monday.  However, I am not holding my breath.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Low clouds are prevalent again this morning, but compared to yesterday, the marine layer is just a bit shallower.  In fact there are still some clear skies left in the San Fernando Valley.

All in all, Good Friday will be great, weather wise.  We are anticipating highs in the 70s while some valleys reach near 80.

There is a ridge of high pressure bumping in ahead of the cut-off low.  The latest forecast models have the low moving inland from Saturday thru late Sunday.  But I am expecting this system to trend drier for the Los Angeles area.

Our best chance for any rain will be Sunday mid-day, and I don’t think there is even going to be much then.  Easter Sunday shouldn’t be too bad, maybe just a little cooler.  Then another ridge bumps in next week to warm us up again.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Get ready for another round of low clouds mixed with some patchy fog. The marine layer is running a little deeper than yesterday. It is deep enough to squeeze out a little patchy drizzle.

We will get some mid-day clearing with hazy sunshine.  Temperatures are running just a touch below average.

We will get a little bump in our temperatures on Friday with a little ridging.  Then things cool down for the holiday weekend.  As we look beyond Saturday, there is a cut-off low that will give all of us a headache.

Right now, it is pegged to get swallowed up in the jet stream early Sunday and push east through Monday, which will give a slight chance for some showers as the system pushes through.

The forecast models are giving us a range from completely dry to just very light rain, so this isn’t going to be any kind of soaker.  But, I’ve said it once…I’ve said it a thousand times “cut off low…weather man’s woe.”  We’ll have to watch the movement of this system closely.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The winds were howling overnight in the San Fernando Valley and it is still a little gusty this morning, but the winds should relax as we make our way through the day.

There may be one more spike in the winds later tonight, so advisories may once again be issued.

There is a marine layer brewing this morning from a coastal eddy, but inland areas in the San Fernando Valley have cleared out quite nicely.  The marine layer is creeping into the San Gabriel Valley however.

We benefited from a little temperature bump yesterday reaching 72, slightly above average.  It looks like we will maintain the 70s through the weekend before things cool down in the middle of next week.  Right now it looks like the chance for rain are being pushed to the end of the week and into next weekend.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Yesterday’s cold front has swept across the region and did a good job of scouring some of the cloud cover. We will still have patchy low clouds mixed with high clouds today.

Temperatures will still be running just a touch below average, but very similar to yesterday.

The big weather story today: gusty winds. We are anticipating some fierce winds in the high desert early on,but later this afternoon, it looks like the Santa Clarita Valley and the north end of the San Fernando Valley will get hit by some tough winds. Don’t be surprised if more extensive wind advisories pop up today.

The I-5 corridor will be a focus of concern all the way through Friday. There is even a fire danger concern as we make our way into late Friday with humidities falling into the single digits in the mountains.

We will see things settle down over the weekend…by next week though the long range models are still hinting at rain.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — A small ridge is bumping into the area today ahead of a cold front that will also pass through.

The cold front will bring a chance for some showers up north and possibly in some foothill communities, but the Los Angeles Metro area should remain dry.

As the front exits, we could get some gusty winds that result in advisories for the area. Wind Advisories were issued this morning for the high desert from 10 a.m. today through 5 a.m. tomorrow.

Temperatures should warm slightly into the weekend, but we shouldn’t get much warmer than the low 70s.

We will cool it down again next week. Right now the long range models are hinting at rain next week.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — It will be a healthy mix of clouds and sunshine today. We’ll call it partly cloudy to mostly cloudy.

The marine layer is still in place this morning, however, it has been broken up a bit. There is a disturbance moving into the West Coast and it is providing for the high cloud cover. A dry cold front will pass on Wednesday with little ado.

There may be some very light precipitation north of Santa Barbara in San Luis Obispo County.

The Los Angeles Metro area will remain dry, breezy, and cool. Temperatures continue to run below average. We probably won’t see 70s again until Saturday when a ridge will nudge over, but the intensity of that high pressure ridge has diminished, so the warm up will put us at or slightly above average as we make our way through the weekend and into next week.

There will be some more cooling late next week.

The marine layer is being fueled by a weak coastal eddy off-shore.  But all-in-all it’s a pretty quite forecast to start things off this week.

There is a disturbance pushing through the area on Wednesday, and while last week it looked like this system might be able to squeeze out some moisture, the latest models are keeping us dry.

A ridge is expected to bump in behind the trough on Wednesday and we can expect a warmer end of the week and weekend with temps back up in the 70s.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — After some very warm afternoons, things are changing up.

We had record breaking high temps yesterday in the 90s, 97 at Van Nuys Airport.  We are waking up to some low clouds once again this morning with a decent high cloud cover deck over the area as well.

Temperatures will be dropping just a couple of degrees today.  Inland cities will notice the cooler weather more than residents along the coastal plain or at the beach.

Even with the cooler weather, daytime highs will still be several degrees above average.

We will see more of a noticeable cool down on Saturday and Sunday.

There are a couple of short waves moving through the area that will bring varying cloudiness through Monday.  The forecast models are showing off the possibility of a late season storm for the Southland late Wednesday to early Thursday.  This certainly would be good news if it happens considering our rain deficit this year.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Yesterday lived up to the hype. We broke a couple of records with the high pressure focusing its strength over the west coast.

Burbank and Woodland Hills both reached into the 90s on Wednesday.  Look for similar conditions today.

The ridge hasn’t moved all that much so we will be in the 80s and we will probably see some 90s.  However, the beach communities have been completely left out of the party.  Temperatures are cool at the coast because of a dense fog layer that has once again formed this morning.  An advisory is in place through 9 a.m.

The temperatures start backing down on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but we will stay above average.  Beach communities won’t cool down as temperatures are already low.

By next week, it looks like a broad trough along the west coast may give us a shot at rain.

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The ridge over the west coast continues to strengthen and we will warm up a bit Wednesday and Thursday.  These will be the warmest days of the extended period.  So enjoy this taste of spring.

The only hiccup in the forecast is a deck of dense fog that has moved into some coastal areas.  There is a dense fog advisory up and down the coast and it will run until 9 a.m.

The marine layer should burn off quickly and we will be left with hazy sunshine, however depending on the persistence of that marine layer, it may keep things cool for some beach communities.

The ridge breaks down on Friday and Saturday, but we are still going to remain a good 5 to 6 degrees above average.

It looks like we have a cool down headed our way next week. I’m watching a trough in the middle of the week to see if it is possible to get any rain from it.
