Highway 101 In Thousand Oaks Closed In Both Directions Due To Large Truck Fire

THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA) — Highway 101 in Thousands Oaks Sunday was closed in both directions due to a large, truck fire.

The truck caught fire around 5 a.m. at Hampshire Road. According to the CHP, the truck was loaded with 500 small, propane tanks.

As of 8 a.m., the scene appeared stable, and detours remain in place. There was no word yet on when the highway would reopen.

The public was urged to avoid the area.
