Student Pilot, Instructor Walk Away After Helicopter Makes Hard Landing At John Wayne Airport

SANTA ANA (CBSLA) — A student pilot and an instructor walked away with minor injuries after their helicopter made a hard landing at John Wayne Airport Monday.

Emergency crews responded to the small aviation runway after the chopper went down around 3:30 p.m. The aircraft had to be sprayed for leaking fuel.

Commercial traffic was not affected.

An investigation is ongoing.
