Man Arrested In String Of Lennox Shootings That Killed 2

LENNOX (CBSLA.com) — A 36-year-old man was in custody Monday in connection with several shootings in the unincorporated Lennox area that killed two men and wounded a third, authorities said.

Juan Saucedo was arrested on murder charges. He is being held on $2 million bail.

The incident began when gunfire was reported at 6:48 p.m. Sunday in the 10100 block of South Firmona Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Kelvin Moody.

When deputies arrived, they found one man dead from a gunshot wound to the upper torso, Moody said.

They learned that a man suspected of the shooting might have run toward the 10600 block of Mansel Avenue where he shot another man, the deputy said. The second victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect then ran toward the 10400 block of Mansel Avenue where he attempted a carjacking and shot a Hispanic man who was driving the vehicle, Moody said. Arriving deputies detained the suspect without incident and the victim was taken to a hospital in fair condition.

The names of the victims were being withheld, pending notification of relatives.

"The motive and relationship, if any, between the victims and the suspect is unknown at this time," Moody said. No other suspects were sought.
