2 Men Ransack Tarzana Verizon Store At Gunpoint

TARZANA (CBSLA.com) – Police are searching for two men who held up a Tarzana Verizon store at gunpoint and made off with thousands of dollars' worth of smart phones Wednesday morning.

The robbery occurred before 10:30 a.m. at a store in the 18400 block of Ventura Blvd., according to police.

A sales representative told CBS2 that one suspect came in through the front of the store and the other through the back.

One suspect held employees at gunpoint with a handgun while the second heaped about 40 iPhones and Samsung phones into a bag.

"He (the suspect) made me pinpoint where the tracker phone was... he did not want to touch that one because he knows that we can track them," Verizon sales representative Burhan Abdullah said.

The suspects stole an estimated $30,000 worth of phones, Abdullah said. They then fled in a black-colored sedan.

No one was in injured.

Los Angeles police are investigating. No suspect descriptions or surveillance photos were immediately available.
