Suspect's Name Released In Lancaster Murder Case
LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — New developments in the murder case of a 36-year-old mother of three children found dead in a Lancaster home late Friday night.
The name of the suspect arrested for the murder of Lyndi Fisher has just been released. It is 30-year-old William Hughes.
Fisher had gone to repair Hughes' refrigerator. Deputies say it was 11 p.m. when they were called out. Hughes told them he briefly left his home and when he came back Fisher was on the floor unresponsive. She suffered some sort of blunt force trauma and was declared dead.
Her family says it's not the first time she had been to Hughes' house, she had gone by the week before, ordered the necessary parts and was back to finish the work.
Neighbors say Hughes had been living in the Lancaster home for only a few months and had not made much of an impression.
"Everybody around here on this street waves. Like the plumber just came by and waved at us," said the suspect's neighbor Ben Ramirez. "Him? Not so much."
Her boss says Fisher checked in from Hughes' house at 6:09 Friday night and they expected her to be done by 7. She never made contact again.
"All of our employees are just like family and this is a lot for us to handle," says Christy Savoie-Knop, owner of Arrow Appliance. "It's just unheard of. I honestly don't know how to put it into words. Lyndi is a very good mother. She was a very, very good mother. She loved her kids very much."
