Shots Fired At Car Doing Late-Night 'Donuts' In OC Neighborhood

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — An Anaheim man who police say fired shots at a driver who was doing donuts in the street in the middle of the night was in custody Monday.

Officers began searching for the suspect after a 2:45 a.m. incident where a vehicle started performing the driving stunt in the 700 block of N. Olive, according to Anaheim police.

A neighbor came out of a nearby house and fired several rounds at the car, hitting the vehicle, its driver and a couple of houses, police said.

The driver was not seriously injured.

The suspected shooter was barricaded in the home and refused to come out for several hours until he surrendered around 10 a.m., police said.

Local residents were asked to shelter in place during the barricade.
