The second of three, this event is a great experience for the whole family. Many plein air paintings are regularly crafted at Crystal Cove so it's only natural that the conservancy would want to bring the spirit of that to local children ages 8 and up as well as families. The three-hour program runs from 9 a.m. to noon, discussing the basics of the art form. It also gives each person enrolled a chance to create a plein air painting of their own—focusing on the cove itself. Alan Nowell will lead the class while Laura Rosenkranz will lead the upcoming final workshop on August 8.
