Carson Mother Of 3 Found Dead With 'Traumatic Injury' To Torso

CARSON (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspicious death of a woman in Carson.

The discovery of the woman was made around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of E. Pacific Street.

It was there that detectives responded to a call of a "person down."

The victim is a mother of three now identified as 26-year-old Aurora Becerra.

When officials arrived on scene, they found the victim suffering from a traumatic injury to her upper torso.

Authorities said the victim was unresponsive, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

CBS 2's Adrianna Weingold was present when friends and family gathered outside the home to mourn Becerra's loss.

Neighbors told her they often heard loud arguments coming from the house late into the night.

"I call the police a lot if times," said Mike Ramirez, "because I hear little kids screaming all over."

The body was found outside, in the driveway, authorities said.

Police were tight-lipped. They didn't say why Becerra was staying there or who she was staying with. They only said the blunt force trauma to her torso likely contributed to her death

Friends told Weingold that Becerra had three children -- two boys and a girl -- ages 8, 7 and 4. But that none of the children lived with her.

Investigators do not believe Becerra's death was gang-related and haven't released any suspect information.
