Best 4th Of July Festivals & Parties In Orange County

On the 4th of July, it is easy to see the sense of community within Orange County. Cities throughout Orange County will be organizing grand festivals, parades and gatherings, attracting people both within and outside the area. Practically every community has a fireworks display, but the following list shows places where you can take the family for a day or evening of Independence Day fun.

Kick off the 4th with a trip to Huntington Beach for the annual Bolsa Chica Fourth of July celebration which includes a great all-you-can-eat Champagne brunch combined with an excellent view of the Huntington Beach 4th of July parade. Proceeds from this event are used to help fund Bolsa Chica Conservancy's education programs and Habitat Restoration Initiatives. Start your 4th of July early at Fred's Mexican Cafe and keep on celebrating throughout the day in Huntington Beach!

San Juan Capistrano always has a great community feel to it, especially on holidays like Independence Day. On July 4, come celebrate with other residents as people come together at Sports Park to enjoy a day filled with great food, a beer and wine garden, as well as festivities like free picnic games, a ride around the park on the freedom train, live entertainment from the local band Family Style and a carnival! The carnival opens at noon and will shut down briefly during the fireworks display at 9 p.m. The main stage show by Family Style begins at 6 p.m. Visitors are welcome to set up lawn chairs, picnic blankets, umbrellas and canopies at the event.

When looking for ways to enjoy America's birthday, you can't go wrong spending the evening in Santa Ana. Beginning at 4 p.m., Centennial Park comes alive with live music, food and face painting and an area especially for kids to have fun. The event, which is completely free to attend, will be filled with patriotic entertainment, including a cannon exhibition, recognition of our armed forces, as well as a history walk by liberty patriots. Make sure to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and blankets. Activities end at 8 p.m., but stick around for a terrific fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

There's a lot to enjoy in a place that calls itself "Surf City, USA." Over the holiday weekend, Huntington Beach will once again celebrate with family entertainment, food vendors, live music and, of course, the waves and sand that make the area a mecca for surfers. If you've never traveled the Pacific Coast Highway, July 4 would be a great time to check it out. Pack up the family and cruise down to Huntington Beach for Independence Day. There will be live musical performances on July 2, 3 & 4, 2017, including Ragdoll, the Beach Boys tribute band Surfs Up, the 80's tribute band After Party, Sabrina Lentini, Roots of Mine, Hanna Eyre & The Ashleys and many more. There will also be a parade themed United We Stand which runs on Main Street.

On July 4th, take a trip up to the beautiful Anaheim Hills area for a fun family celebration. From their Firecracker 5k / 10K Run which starts the day off to the Yankee Doodle Dog Show, the 4th of July Patriotic Parade and a fireworks show at Peralta Park, there's plenty to do in Anaheim this year! The parade will feature live music, great food, along with a fireworks show you won;'t want to miss.
