What makes Dockweiler State Beach so great is that this three mile long shoreline offers a picnic area and concession stand. The wide beach is also beneath the takeoff path from LAX airport so while you're cooking up your BBQ, or sharing picnic items with friends on the beach, you can watch planes take off! It's a great spot for families and with the fire pits, it's a no brainer for a perfect place to celebrate the 4th. In fact, it's one of the only places in the city that allows bonfires.
