Man Arrested In Filming Of Shoppers At Riverside Target Fitting Rooms

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A Riverside man was arrested this week, suspected of recording shoppers in fitting rooms without their knowledge, authorities said.

Riverside police arrested Johnathon Gonzales, 31, on suspicion of invasion of privacy, accused of following women into the co-ed dressing rooms of the Target store on Arlington Avenue, then slipping his cellphone under the stalls and to secretly record the victims.

CBS2 News attempted to speak to Gonzales at his home Friday, but he refused to address the charges against him. However, a neighbor referred to him as "a family man."

Asked about how the news made her feel, one mother shopping at Target Friday said she felt safer having her daughter try on clothes at home.

"I got her a shirt, and she can try it on at home," she told CBS2 News. "I can take it back if it doesn't fit."

Police said there might be more victims out there.

Gonzales is charged with a misdemeanor.
