ENCINO (CBSLA.com) — Ventura Boulevard looked more like a river early Thursday morning, thanks to a water main break.
Crews were called to the 15600 block of Ventura Boulevard just after 1 a.m. and found a large water main break had breached a nearby sushi restaurant.
LADWP crews rushed to the scene to shut off the valve, but not before water flooded seven restaurants, including California Chicken Café.
Officials are not sure how long cleanup will take.
Two westbound lanes of Ventura were closed between Haskell and Firmament avenues while crews work on the problem.
