BRENTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Heavy rain caused power lines and a large tree to fall in Brentwood.

Officials closed Sunset Boulevard at Rockingham Avenue on Monday morning while crews worked to remove the tree.

The roadway reopened shortly before 11 a.m., CBS2's Joy Benedict reported.

At the height of the storm, 16,000 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers were without power.

At this time, several thousand homes remain without power.
