Deputy-Involved Shooting In East LA Leaves 1 Dead

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday were continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a deadly deputy-involved shooting in East Los Angeles.

Deputies say they responded to a 911 call overnight Saturday in the 900 block of La Verne Avenue. At some point thereafter, a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

It is not clear what triggered the shooting.

No deputies were injured.

The incident marks the third deputy-involved shooting in Los Angeles County within the past week. The other two happened in Hacienda Heights and South Los Angeles on Thursday and Monday.
