Harbor Patrol Rescues Malnourished Sea Lion Pup Found Roaming Santa Barbara Street

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol rescued a malnourished California sea lion pup that was seen Sunday wandering the streets of Santa Barbara.

The pup was found “in the middle of Cabrillo Blvd.,” near Stearns Wharf, according to a Facebook post from the non-profit Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute.


The sea lion pup was placed in the institute’s care. An update on the pup’s condition was not immediately available.
