‘Flip Or Flop’ Stars Announce Separation

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The husband and wife team behind HGTV’s “Flip or Flop” have announced their separation six months after police were called to their home over what the couple called an “unfortunate misunderstanding.”

According to a police report obtained by KCAL 9, On May 23rd, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun.

Deputies say a neighbor told them he saw Tarek El Moussa run for the hills behind their home with a backpack. Thats when:

“Christina El Moussa, came running to the residence and she was crying and shaking. She told him Tarek took a handgun, put it in his back pack and ran outside. She said she already called 911.” according to the Sheriff’s report.

Tarek and Christina El Moussa say in a statement that police were called out of “an abundance of caution.” They say there was no violence and no charges were filed.

The couple says the incident prompted them to seek counseling and they’ve decided to separate while evaluating the future of their marriage. The statement says they plan to continue their professional life together.

HGTV says that it will honor any decision that works best for the couple and their children and that the home renovation series “will continue production as scheduled.”

Just two months ago the TV couple came under fire when fans accused the El Moussas of misleading them into paying for pricey and useless how to seminars. Claims they denied.

  1. I wonder if all the stress from just recently having another child and from their business played a big roll in their separation? I hope that their time apart and the help that they are getting will help mend their marriage. Wishing them the very best especially because of the children. Praying for them. God bless them.

  2. So sorry to read this news Such a lovely couple. Two beautiful kids, its so sad. I’ll pray for better days. It’s never easy but sometime you have to work hard at love. Only the best of luck to both of you!
