Redondo Beach police officers initiated a chase that led to the crash and shooting in San Pedro at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, said Redondo Beach police Lt. Joe Hoffman.
No officers were injured.
The crash occurred near Gaffey Street and Summerland Avenue, where a Redondo Beach officer got out of his patrol car to approach Dallaire.
The suspect allegedly put his vehicle in reverse in an attempt to strike the officer, Lopez said.
It was also at this location where the officer-involved shooting occurred.
Still, according to Lopez, the suspect was able to drive away and the pursuit ended in the area of 17th and Leland streets, where the suspect’s vehicle became disabled.
