'Brady Bunch' Star Fired From Radio Station After Interview With Gay Actor Turns Offensive On Facebook

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — A Los Angeles radio station says former "Brady Bunch" star Susan Olsen has been fired after she got into an online confrontation with openly gay actor Leon Acord-Whiting.

LA Talk Radio announced on Friday that it will not tolerate hateful speech and that it has severed ties with the host.

Us Weekly reports Acord-Whiting criticized the co-host of "Two Chicks Talkin' Politics" after he was a guest on the show.

Olsen posted on her Facebook page that Acord-Whiting blocked her "before I could even get one hit in."

Acord-Whiting later posted a screenshot of a Facebook message he says Olsen sent to him. In the screenshot, Olsen appears to call the actor an offensive term for gay men.

KCAL9's Erica Nochlin said Acord-Whiting made a statement about Olsen's firing.

"Getting fired is never a happy event, even when the person deserves it. This isn't a 'victory' as much it is a badly-needed course corrections. I applaud LA Talk Radio for dealing with it so quickly."

Olsen's bio and radio show clips have been removed from the Talk Radio site.

Her most recent public Facebook post says, "People can have different opinions. That's how we learn."

Olden's co-host, Sheena Metal, says Olden has supported her as a bi-sexual but also said her former co-hosts degrading remarks were not okay.

She posted, "There were many things that led up to Susan's inflammatory remakes of two days ago, many of which I am sure she will discuss publicly herself, when she is ready."

Nochlin went to Olsen's home seeking comment or response. A woman that appeared to be her, drove off when she saw Nochlin and her crew and refused to stop or talk.
