Shots Fired During Road Rage Confrontation In Fontana

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Police asked for the public's help Wednesday in identifying a man they said fired on another driver during a road rage incident.

The shooting happened at about 6:53 p.m. Monday in the area of Citrus and Jurupa.

Police say the victim was driving west on Jurupa when a newer model Cadillac pulled up next to him and the two drivers exchanged words. The victim drove away and was south on Citrus from Jurupa, when the Cadillac pulled up alongside him again.

The driver of the Cadillac shot several times at the victim, who was not injured, police said. At least five shots hit the victim's car.

The Cadillac driver was last seen driving down a side street, and police who were called to the scene were unable to find the driver or the suspect vehicle.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 30s, between 190 and 200 pounds with a bushy black beard. The suspect's car was described as a light blue, newer model Cadillac, possibly a CTS model.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity or his vehicle can call Detective Vestey at (909) 350-7717.
