Metrolink Train Slams Into Big Rig In Corona
CORONA (CBSLA.com) — A Metrolink train that was headed to Irvine slammed into a big rig Tuesday morning.
According to police, the accident took place just after 6 a.m. near the intersection of Smith Street and Maple Avenue.
A preliminary investigation revealed train No. 805 struck the big rig, which became stuck on the tracks, tipping over its dump trunk trailer.
No injuries were reported.
It remains unclear when service will be restored on the route.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
