This week is packed with performances, both holiday-themed and not. It's also got two perfect chances to kick back with a drink, and opportunities to go visit a winter wonderland. There's even a little snow in the forecast at the end of the week.

Celebrate Repeal Day Across Los Angeles

Prohibition was repealed over 80 years ago, but bars and restaurants around the city are still celebrating. Once the clock hits 2:30pm, Paley in Hollywood will offer five classic cocktails priced at $5, including the Bee's Knees, Rye Manhattan, Moscow Mule, Paloma, and Penicillin. They'll also have their regular happy hour specials (50% off draft beer, wines by the glass, and craft cocktails) going until 6pm as well. Take a break from all the holiday-themed shows and catch the world premiere production of "The Wholehearted." Written and co-directed by Deborah Stein, and performed by co-director Suli Holum, the performance is a one woman show portraying the life of a female boxing phenom who survives a brutal attack by her husband. The play uses live projections, film, and a thumping score to tell the tale of revenge, redemption, and the high cost of fame. The show runs through Sunday.

New York's premiere choral ensemble and Baroque orchestra is performing one the season's most heralded pieces of music, Handel's "Messiah." The Trinity Wall Street's choir takes a different approach when it comes to performing the work, featuring many soloists from its talented pool, rather than the traditional four soloists. It is also one of the first groups to have performed the work in North America in 1770, guaranteeing goose bumps during the "Hallelujah Chorus."

Music and Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel conducts Haydn's masterpiece, "The Creation," an oratorio depicting the creation of the world as described in the Book of Genesis. Tonight's performance is not only the first of the LA Phil's Inside the Music with Brian Lauritzen Series, giving patrons access to behind-the-scenes videos, pre-concert presentations, and additional insight from the musicians, but also part of the in/Sight multi-media Series, bringing sound and visual together. The musical experience is heightened with multi-sensory presentations, including staged performances, video projections, and other creative visual elements.

Malibu Country Mart is hosting its annual Winter Wonderland celebration through the month of December, decking the place out in festive holiday decor, twinkling lights, an Instagram-worthy Christmas tree, and beautiful menorah. Over 70 tons of snow are forecasted today for Studio City, as the city's Annual Winter Family Festival returns. The free event includes sledding and snowman making, gingerbread house decorating, holiday crafts, and photo ops with Santa. Local schools and community groups will provide entertainment, while local restaurants dish out samples as part of "A Taste of the Holidays." The festivities are free, but attendees are encouraged to donate toys, canned/packaged food, toys, clothes, and more as part of the event's "Festival of Giving."
