Home Burglary Victim Hopes Surveillance Video Will Lead To Arrest Of 3 Suspects

CALABASAS (CBSLA.com)   —  A Calabasas home owner who was burglarized by three men is hoping surveillance video the crime will lead to their capture.

And their images were captured from several different angles.

KCAL9's Jennifer Kastner spoke to the homeowner who is asking for the public's help.

Her video starts with one of the men realizing he's being recorded. And the man does a double-take and he's not happy.

"It's anger," says the homeowner, who didn't want his face shown.

The burglary took place last Friday in his home near Grape Arbor Park.

"It's been a roller coaster of emotions since," said the homeowner.

Security video captured the back door sliding open. Then 1, 2, 3 men come walking in.

They bust out a big hole here," the homeowner said, "and then you can hear them pushing pieces of glass into the room."

Once inside, you can see the suspects putting on gloves and then scurrying around the living before they head upstairs.

"For the next 10-15 minutes all you hear is chaos," he said.

After the sounds of many things breaking, you see one of the suspects coming down the stairs holding a sack.

Another goes up the stairs wiping down the railing.

Photos of the chaos the men left in their wake show clothes covering the ground, papers and other items tossed all over.

The homeowner said cash was taken along with sentimental jewelry and silverware.

But the biggest loss, he told Kastner, was his sense of security.

"I wanted to put this out here so that more people could see how painful this in for people and to ask themselves is it worth it to do this to someone else?," said the homeowner.

The LA County Sheriff's Department confirms it is investigating this as a suspected burglary.

If you have any information about these suspects, you're asked to call Sheriff's Deupties.
