Search Called Off For Gunman Who Shot Out Baldwin Park Police Cruiser Window

BALDWIN PARK (CBSLA.com) — A gunman who shot out the rear window of a police cruiser in a Burger King parking lot in Baldwin Park was at large Thursday.

The search, which involved multiple agencies and police dogs, ended at about 12:30 a.m., Baldwin Park police Lt. Mark Adams said.

The shooting initially happened at 8:48 p.m. Wednesday near Ramona and Baldwin Park boulevards, where an officer had just finished a traffic stop.

The officer was driving through the window of the parking lot when he heard one gunshot and his rear window shattered, Adams said. The officer did not see the shooter and there were no eyewitnesses.

The officer was not injured.
