As Seen On TV: 'Woof Washer 360' Best Suited For Light Canine Cleanings

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Dog owners know that "bath time" often means a thorough soaking for both pet and owner.

But the people who made the "Woof Washer 360" claim to have cleaned up the dog washing process.

It works like this: A circular Woof Washer hoop connects to a garden hose, allowing a dog owner to soak their pooch by moving the hoop over the length of the dog's body.

A shampoo dispenser connects to the device to add suds. A "rinse" setting is then used to wash the suds away.

Woof Washer infomercials claim the device can clean a dog in just a minute.

But does it really work as advertised?

CBS2's Elsa Ramon met up with Chad, the owner of a non-profit animal shelter, to try the device on a small dog named Reynolds and a larger pooch named Speedy.

Reynolds was not fond of the device at first -- even with the jets on their lightest setting -- but eventually calmed down. Still, keeping him calm and washing him was clearly a two-person job.

"I would probably say it was a little difficult," Chad said. "It would probably take two people."

Speedy was more docile and didn't seem bothered by the device.

As for the device itself, Chad found it easy to adjust to accommodate the different size breeds.

Even with the soap dispenser on its fullest setting, he found it difficult to dispense enough suds to really penetrate a thick coat.

An easier option would be to apply soap by hand, he said.

In summary, Chad said the device is probably best suited to handle a light dog washing rather than heavy-duty cleanups.
