Lakers Center Timofey Mozgov To Miss Hawks Game With Eye Injury

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Lakers center Timofey Mozgov will miss Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks due to swelling around his left eye.

Mozgov was hit in the face twice in Tuesday's loss to the Pacers. He was first hit in the mouth by an inadvertent elbow early in the third quarter.

He received four stitches and re-entered the game with four minutes left in the third quarter.

Shortly after, he was poked in the eye and forced to leave the game.

Mozgov's eye was visibly swollen in post-game interviews, and he underwent a CT scan Wednesday morning to determine if he had broken his eye socket.

The Lakers were awaiting the results Wednesday morning.

Whatever the results, Mozgov will miss Wednesday's game, according to reports.

Tarik Black looks like the leading candidate to join the starting five in his place, CBS Sports reports.
