Huntington Beach Sees Spike In Stingray Injuries, Officials Say
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Huntington Beach is apparently experiencing a spike in stingray injuries.
Officials tell the Orange County Register that the spike is occurring even as water temperatures cool.
On Thursday, there were 17 reports of stingray injuries, followed by another 10 Friday.
Sign have been posted to warn beachgoers.
Stingray injuries tend to occur when the water is warmer, and waves, smaller, a marine safety officer from Huntington Beach said.
