Tustin Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Killing Her Husband

TUSTIN (CBSLA.com) — Tustin police arrested a woman on suspicion of killing her husband Thursday morning.

At about 3:30 a.m., police said Janell Enos, 48, called 911 and reported that she had shot her husband at their apartment in the 14300 block of Browning Avenue, according to the Tustin Police Department.

Upon arrival, they found Tommy Enos, 46, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Neighbors said they are shocked to learn about the tragedy. Joann Murphy could not contain her emotions. "I'm really sad (I'm going to start crying) that you can get that mad at somebody and kill them," she said.

"Just coming home right now and seeing his truck was very emotional for me because he was always so sweet. And if we ever needed help [he always asked] 'Oh, do you need a hand?' Yeah, he was very helpful, very nice guy, always smiling, always waving," Dawn Murphy said.

Neighbors said Tom Enos had been unemployed for months, and his wife supported them by working at a grocery store.

Janell Enos' son is with the 101st Airborne Division in the army. She proudly displayed his Blue Star in the couple's front window.

She posted on Facebook photos of her hugging her son and a picture of herself pointing a gun at shooting range.

Neighbors said they never heard or saw the couple argue. They wish they had paid more attention to any signs of trouble.

"I feel for her also because to get to that point. What could have been going or what could we've done as a community to help?" Murphy asked.

Enos was being held at Orange County Jail on $1 million bail.
