Woman, 42, Accused Of Embezzling $266K From Fullerton Aquatics Swim Team

YORBA LINDA (CBSLA.com)  —    The lights were on at the Yorba Linda home where 42-year-old Tracy Noseworthy was arrested last night by Fullerton Police around 7:30 p.m.

Police say Noseworthy, the former treasurer of the Fullerton Aquatic Swim Team (FAST) -- the place where Olympian Janet Evans trained as a teen -- skimmed $266,000 from the organization from 2012 to December 2015

KCAL9's Stecey Butler spoke to parents who were shocked and surprised by the arrest.

"Wow," said one parent.

"I really am surprised," said  Clarence Deleon, "It's disappointing that someone could do this."

Parents told Butler they pay quarterly for their kids to swim at the private club.

"I think it's a really well run program," said one.

"The coaches are awesome, they are nice they are really good," said another.

The club's C.O.C. declined an on-camera interview. But he did say Noseworthy was let go last December when the allegations first surfaced that she embezzled $150,000 after a nearly year-long investigation.

That amount has almost doubled.

"That's disgusting. That's not nice," said Eleanor Lopez.

Some parents can't help but wonder how the club will make up for the budget shortfall?

Noseworthy has been charged with forgery, unauthorized access to computers, burglary, grand theft, embezzlement and forgery of records.

She is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
