Police Search For Gunman Wanted For Killing Woman In South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Tuesday searched for a gunman who shot and killed a woman in South Los Angeles.

According to police, the shooting was reported around 10:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Avalon Boulevard and 41st Street.

Police found a Hispanic woman, believed to be in her 30s, suffering from a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

Paramedics transported the woman to a hospital where she later died. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Detectives said the gunman was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black shorts and a backpack.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
