As Hot Dog Stands' Twitter Feud Escalates, Pink's Wagers On NLCS With Chicago's Wiener Circle

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — What began as a Twitter war over the Dodgers vs. Cubs NLCS has turned into a bet with thousands of dollars in charity money -- and hundreds of hot dogs -- at stake.

It all began last week, before Game 1, when Chicago hot dog joint Wiener Circle sent a provocative tweet at Pink's.

As the series has progressed, the stakes were raised. On Tuesday, shortly before the Cubs tied the series 2-2 with a resounding Game 4 win, a bet was proposed and agreed upon.

The two bitter rivals have agreed that if the Dodgers win, Wiener's Circle will -- for an hour starting at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 25th -- buy a chili cheese dog for everyone in line at Pink's on La Brea Ave. Wiener's Circle will also donate their two best hours of sales to Pink's Hot Dogs' charity of choice.

If the Cubs win the series, Pink's has agreed to buy hot dogs for the first 108 people in line at Wiener's Circle Chicago Dogs at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 25. Pink's will also donate $1,908 (the last year Cubs won the World Series) to the charity of Wiener's Circle's choice.

October 25 is the first day of the World Series.
