20 Passengers Report Feeling Ill On Atlanta-To-LAX Spirit Airlines Flight

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Twenty passengers reported feeling ill on an Atlanta-to-LAX Spirit Airlines flight Thursday, but none were hospitalized.

The flight landed at LAX at 12:08 p.m., and the airport's public relations staff was notified of the reportedly sickened passengers.

Authorities quickly responded, including personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Airport Police Department.

None of the passengers were taken to the hospital.

Investigators were working to determine the cause of the illness. Spirit Airlines does not serve meals, but does serve in-flight snacks.

Spirit Airlines spokesman Stephen Schuler said passengers reported a sweet smell coming from the middle of the plane, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.
