Legal Spat Between Minnie Driver And Neighbor Over Property Access Continues

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Actress Minnie Driver appeared in a downtown L.A. courtroom Thursday because she is suing her neighbor for allegedly interfering with her use of her driveway they share. Her neighbor claims she has been verbally abusive to him and threw paint on his home.

A cell phone video shows how fiery a legal battle between Driver and her next door neighbor in the Hollywood Hills has gotten.

The video was given to CBSLA by the attorney for 75-year-old Daniel Perelmutter who's been at odds with Driver for about a year-and-a-half over the construction of his home.

The case is over access to a shared driveway that's part of a 10-year-old court order which was handed down years before either side bought their properties.

Driver has said she was often blocked from getting in and out of her home by construction trucks and building materials.

"On many occasions they made the entrance and exit from the driveway of the garage impossible," Ellyn Garofalo, attorney for Driver said.

But Permutter says it's Driver who created a mess by using her car to block his workers and their trucks for hours at a time.

"Her mouth is the filthiest you ever heard in your life. She only knows curse words. M-F is part of her vocabulary," Perelmutter says.

Driver says it was Perelmutter who used profanity against her every time she asked him to have work trucks moved.
