Metro Blue Line Station In Long Beach Briefly Closed For Fight Investigation

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A fight on a Metro Blue Line platform in Long Beach Monday morning prompted the closure of the Fifth Street Station while an investigation was conducted.

The altercation occurred about 8 a.m., according to Ramon Montenegro of the Sheriff's Transit Policing Division. An unidentified person was "cut with a sharp object" and hospitalized with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Delays of about 20 minutes were reported in rail service, which bypassed the station, according to Metro. The station was reopened at about 10 a.m.

The suspect fled and was being sought.
