Amber Rose Leads 'Slut Walk' Through Downtown Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Actress-turned-activist Amber Rose led a throng of demonstrators through downtown Los Angeles Saturday for a "slut walk" to protest "sexual injustice, victim blaming, derogatory labeling and gender inequality."

The march, which began in Pershing Square, was the second "Slut Walk" Rose has staged in Los Angeles, although similar events were previously held in West Hollywood.

The "slut walk" movement began after an account of events in which a Toronto police officer in 2011 "told a crowd of college women that if they wanted to avoid sexual assault, they shouldn't dress like sluts," Rose said on a fundraising page for the event.

Other celebrities on hand Saturday included model Blac Chyna and blogger Perez Hilton.

Not everyone in attendance was supportive of the event, however, with some protesters holding up signs to show their disapproval.
