SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Friday searched for two robbery suspects who fatally shot a man and wounded a woman in South Los Angeles.
The incident unfolded around 11:40 p.m. Thursday in the 4800 block of Halldale near 48th Street, according to police.
Upon their arrival, authorities pronounced an adult African American man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Paramedics transported a woman to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. An update on her condition was not immediately available.
A preliminary investigation revealed the pair were robbed while they sat inside of their vehicle.
At one point, one of the suspects opened fire on the victims.
The woman described two suspects as African American men who traveled in a dark vehicle. One of the suspects was armed with a gun.
The motive for the incident remains under investigation.
