LAPD Commission Finds Three Officers Out Of Policy For Deadly Shootings

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Police Commission has come down hard on three LAPD officers who were involved in deadly shootings.

The commission determined the officers violated department policy in two separate incidents  in 2015.

One of them happened near downtown Los Angeles last September. Norma Guzman, 37, was shot as she walked along a street carrying a knife.

In another incident less than a week later, officers shot and killed a homeless man who shattered the back of their patrol car with a beer bottle in Van Nuys. Two officers were disciplined in that shooting. Those officers claimed the department was on edge at that time when a rapper posted a video on Instagram with a gun and threatening LAPD officers.

CBS2's Elsa Ramon has the details of the commission's findings.
