Man Arrested In Connection With Killing Of Rapper Kid Cali

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an up-and-coming rapper last month at a Granada Hills party, police said Tuesday.

The LAPD said it arrested Kenny Birdine, 19, of Inglewood in connection with the murder of Justin Lishey, also known as Kid Cali.

The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney Office on Tuesday, the LAPD said. The district attorney's office charged Birdine with first degree murder and set bail at $3,065,000.00.

Detectives said they believe the killing was "gang motivated."
