Charter Bus Crashes Into Hydrant At Rancho Palos Verdes Resort

RANCHO PALOS VERDES (CBSLA.com) — A charter bus crashed Monday at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes after the driver experienced a “medical problem,” authorities said.

The accident was reported about 6 a.m. at Palos Verdes Drive South and Terranea Way, according to the sheriff’s department. The bus sheared a hydrant, but remained upright.

No passengers were injured. The bus was on its way to Los Angeles International Airport.

The bus was making a left turn out of the driveway onto Palos Verdes Drive South when it veered further to the left and went down an embankment, then back onto Terranea Resort property, authorities said.

The driver was taken to a hospital for examination.
