3 Arrested In Deadly Buena Park Gas Station Robbery

BUENA PARK (CBSLA.com) — Three men are in custody Thursday in connection with the shooting death of a man during an attempted robbery at a Buena Park gas station.

Jeffrey Tuli, 33, Aaron Jackson, and 32-year-old Dejon Griffin are in custody in connection with the July 1 shooting death of Maher Yousef, 24, of La Mirada, Buena Park police officials announced Thursday.

The three men, whose last known addresses were in San Bernardino, were all arrested in different locations – Tuli in Riverside, Jackson in Las Vegas and Griffin in Lakewood, Washington.

Extradition proceedings are pending for Jackson and Griffin.

Detectives believe Yousef was targeted because he and another person he was with at the time of the crime worked at a check cashing business, police said. The three suspects brandished weapons and demanded money, but no money was taken.

Police later released surveillance video and sought help to solve the crime.

All three suspects will be charged with homicide, and the case has been turned over to the Orange County District Attorney's office for prosecution, police said.
