LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities announced the arrest of a 24-year-old for the slaying in July of a 64-year-old woman, her grandmother.

Paula Montoya's body was discovered July 21 at her home in the 6600 block of Pine Avenue in Bell during a welfare check by police, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau.

She had last been seen alive two days earlier during a visit with family members, officials said.
