LAPD Officer, Suspect Hospitalized Following Shooting In East Hollywood

EAST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles Police officer was hospitalized Tuesday for treatment of injuries sustained during an altercation with a man outside of Walgreens in East Hollywood.

Officers were sent just before 1 a.m. to the 5400 block of Sunset Boulevard for report of a business dispute, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon their arrival, police became involved in an altercation with an adult man.

During the altercation, gunfire was exchanged between authorities and the suspect.

Paramedics wound up transporting one officer and the suspect to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the altercation.

At this time, it remains unclear if the suspect was armed.

The investigation is ongoing.
