5 Rescued After Boat Hits Breakwall Near Port Of LA Lighthouse

SAN PEDRO (CBSLA.com) — Five people were rescued Monday night from a 25-foot boat that struck the breakwall near the Port of Los Angeles lighthouse in San Pedro.

One person was pulled from the rocks and four others from the vessel at 9:45 p.m., said David Ortiz of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The occupants of the boat walked away minor cuts and scrapes, according to Los Angeles Port police Sgt. Danny Rodriguez.

The vessel is safe and tied up at a nearby dock as police investigate the damage at the scene, Rodriguez said.
