Passenger Slightly Injured In Freeway Pellet Gun Shooting

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com/AP) — Authorities say a passenger was slightly injured by shattered glass when the car he was in was struck by a shot from a pellet gun on an Orange County freeway.

The car's driver, Coni Rayo, said she was just about to exit State Route 22 in Garden Grove at about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday when the front passenger window shattered.

"We were heading eastbound on the 22 Freeway when the shot hit the window," Rayo said. "The glass shattered and my passenger was hit in the face."

The injured man was treated at the scene for minor cuts to his face, but not hospitalized.

The California Highway Patrol and Garden Grove police are investigating.
